What Is Ancient Sumerian Writing Doing In America? Deciphering The Fuente Magna Bowl

YouTube Video Here: https://www.youtube.com/embed/uqhyT8KpFeo?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1

In 1549, while searching for the capital of the Inca Empire, Spanish conquistadors, led by Pedro Cieza de León crossed into Bolivia and discovered the ruins of Tiahuanaco. Less than a quarter-mile northeast of Puma Punku, scientists believe Tiahuanaco was once the center of a civilization with more than 40,000 inhabitants.

Located at the Precious Metals Museum in La Paz Bolivia, we find the famous Fuente Magna bowl, a unique piece of ceramic that contains what some believe is one of the biggest secrets of ancient mankind. The Fuente Magna Bowl was discovered near Tiahuanaco (Tiahuanaco is probably the greatest Native American civilization that many people haven’t heard of) and Lake Titicaca by a local farmer in the 1950’s. Researchers worldwide believe that this ceramic bowl provides proof of otherworldly contact at Puma Punku.

A comparison of the writing on the Fuente Magna Bowl

But why is this piece of ceramic so important? Well, written on it you will find Sumerian cuneiform and Proto-Sumerian hieroglyphs, and this is actually a big deal because according to researchers, Sumerians and the ancient people that inhabited Tiahuanaco and Puma Punku were never connected.

So how come Sumerian cuneiform and Proto-Sumerian hieroglyphs are all over the Fuente Magna Bowl?

Author Zecharia Sitchin was one of the first to propose that the Sumerians were interacting with extraterrestrial beings (Ancient Alien theory) called the Anunnaki, this theory, that has been widely rejected seems truly incredible but it does explain how Sumerian cuneiform and Proto-Sumerian hieroglyphs got halfway around the world to end up in Latin America.

The writings on the Fuente Magna Bowl have been somewhat controversial with different researchers providing different explanations.  Dr. Alberto Marini translated the writings carved onto the Fuente Magna Bowl and reported that they were Sumerian, while  Dr. Clyde A. Winters determined that it was probably Proto-Sumerian which is found on many artifacts in Mesopotamia.

Dr. Winters performed several studies on the Fuente Magna Bowl with very interesting results. He compared the writing to the Libyco-Berber writing used in the Sahara 5000 years ago, according to research this writing was used by the Proto-Dravidians, Proto-Mande, Proto-Elamites, and Proto-Sumerians.

The Fuente Magna Bowl
The Fuente Magna Bowl and its curious inscription.

According to Dr. Winters, The discovered Vai script had a lot of interesting and very similar signs to the Libyco-Berber, Indus valley, Proto-Elamite and Proto-Sumerian signs which allowed him to decipher the text. Using the phonetic values of the Vai script, he was able to decipher some of the writings. According to research, the Sumerian language is closely related to the Mande, Dravidian, Proto-Sumerian languages and Vai scripts. By using the phonetic values of the Vai script  Dr. Winters was able to read the script.

After successful transliteration, Dr. Winters was able to translate the inscription using the Sumerian language deciphering the Fuente Magna Bowl. He basically compared the writing of the Fuente Magna bowl with the Vai writing and concluded that the Fuente Magna Bowl inscriptions are put together using the Proto-Sumerian script and the symbols displayed, have several Proto-Sumerian signs which are joined together to form words and sentences.

Dr. Winters divided the Fuente Magna Bowl into their constituent parts so they could be interpreted using the phonetic values of the Vai writing

Following is a transliteration of the inscriptions on the right side of the Fuente Magna, reading from top to bottom and right to left.

1.  Pa ge gi

2.  Mi lu du

3.  I mi ki

4.  me su du

5.  Nia po

6.  Pa

7.  Mash

8.  Nia mi

9.  Du lu gi

10 . Ka me lu

11 . Zi

12 . Nan na pa-I

Winters then gave the following translation:

“(1) Girls take an oath to act justly (this) place. (2) (This is) a favorable oracle of the people. (3) Send forth a just divine decree. (4) The charm (the Fuente Magna) (is) full of Good. (5) The (Goddess) Nia is pure. (6) Take an oath (to her). (7) The Diviner. (8) The divine decree of Nia (is) , (9) to surround the people with Goodness/Gladness. (10) Value the people’s oracle. (11) The soul (to), (12) appear as a witness to the [Good that comes from faith in the Goddess Nia before] all mankind.”

The transliteration of the inscriptions on the left side of the Fuente Magna read:

1.  Tu ki a mash pa

2a . Lu me lu ki mi

2b.  Pa be ge

3.  Zi

4.  lu na

5 . ge

6.  du po

7.  I tu po

8.  lu mi du

(1) Make a libation (this) place for water (seminal fluid?) and seek virtue. (2a) (This is) a great amulet/charm, (2b) (this) place of the people is a phenomenal area of the deity [Nia’s] power. (3) The soul (or breath of life). (4) Much incense, (5) to justly, (6) make the pure libation. (7) Capture the pure libation (/or Appear (here) as a witness to the pure libation). (8) Divine good in this phenomenal proximity of the deity’s power.”

The successful deciphering of the inscriptions presented on the Fuente Magna Bowl seems to indicate that this piece of ceramic was used to make offerings to the Goddess Nia, in the request of fertility, thanking Her for the bountiful fauna and flora in the area which made it possible for the Sumerian explorers to survive while in Bolivia.

We find it extremely interesting that the people of the Fuente Magna referred to the Goddess as Nia. Nia is the Linear-A term for Neith. Neith is the Greek name for the Egyptian Goddess Nt or Neit, Semitic Anat. This goddess was extremely important and popular among the ancient people of Libya and other parts of Middle Africa, before leaving the region to settle Mesopotamia, the Indus Valley, and Minoan Crete.

According to the research that has been made, the Fuente Magna Bowl was probably crafted by Sumerians who settled in Bolivia sometime after 2500 BC, which totally contradicts modern-day archaeology and history which claims that these ancient civilizations were never connected.

These Are The Incredible Lost Megaliths Of Oceania

The distinct culture of Polynesians has created some of the most interesting monuments in the world. A true wonder of the world is the Moai sculptures on Easter Island but not less intriguing are the mysterious Tikis statues of Hiva Oa.

The temple of Taputapuatea Marae is an ancient pyramid built on the Leeward Islands, French Polynesia. It is considered one of the most important sacred complexes in Polynesia. Established around 1000 AD, the marae was a place of learning where priests and navigators from all over the Pacific would gather to offer sacrifices to the gods and share their knowledge of the genealogical origins of the universe, and of deep-ocean navigation.

During the 15th century CE, the Maori of New Zealand constructed a hill fort known as Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill) in Auckland. It is the largest Maori fort ever built. These Earth workers literally carved a fortified complex out of the hill, considered to be the most impressive systems in the world. Many of the Maori can also trace their ancestry back to this hill, which is said to have the spirits of their elders.

The island of Hiva Oa is home to a ceremonial site with houses some of the largest prehistoric statues in French Polynesia, up to 2.6 m high. They are positioned on an ancient monument known as the me’ae, a sacred site arranged for ceremonies and gatherings. The old stone figures were based on gods and legendary figures from the islander’s history.

One of the most interesting fortifications of Polynesia can be found on the small island of Rapa Iti. These pyramid-shaped towers were built along the highest peaks of the island, a realm where the island gods were said to live. It is believed that the depletion of natural resources on the island resulted in warfare, and the inhabitants lived alongside these fortified settlements for protection.

One of the most significant petroglyph sites in the world can be found in Rapa Nui (with more than 1,20 valuable carvings). The ‘Orongo’ glyphs were based on the birdman cult, which hosted an annual race to bring the first bird egg from the islet of Motu Nui to ‘Orongo’. The site has many petroglyphs, mainly of the birdmen, carved out of large volcanic blocks.

One of the most unusual megalithic monuments in the Pacific is the Ha’amonga ‘a Maui in Tonga. Each stone weighs some 20 tons and is some 6 m high. This massive trilithon was composed of three giant stones – two upright and a lintel uniting them. It was built-in the beginning of 13th century, possibly as a royal gateway. Nearby is large upright stone slab – Maka Fa’akinanga – a legendary throne of the king. The local legends of Tonga suggest that this monument was made by a god because no mortals would be able to handle such giant slabs of stone.

Hale O Pi’ilani Heiau is an ancient temple complex built on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. This huge shrine was used to treat the sick, make offerings to the gods, start rain, stop rain, increase the population, ensure the health of the nation, achieve success in distant voyaging, reach peace, and achieve success in war.

These Are Some Of The Most Prominent Pyramids On Earth

A pyramid is a structure whose outer surfaces are triangular and converge to a single point at the top, making the shape roughly a pyramid in the geometric sense. For thousands of years, civilizations across the globe have used this architectural design for tombs, fortresses, and temples.

Compelling studies suggest that many of these pyramids were aligned with astronomical events, such as solstices, eclipses, and even the Earths own hemispheres.

The Mesopotamians built the earliest pyramid structures known as ziggurats (e.g. Tepe Sialk and the Ziggurat of Ur). In ancient times they were painted in gold & bronze, endowing them with a luminous quality. The ziggurats were believed to be dwelling places for the gods, and each city had its own patron deity which ruled over the sea, sky, earth etc.

In Egypt, the pyramids were huge structures built of brick or stone. The sun god Ra, considered the father of all pharaohs, was said to have created himself from a pyramid-shaped mound known as a ‘Benben’ before creating all other gods. They were often coated with white limestone in order to give them a shining appearance (as a reference to the rays of the sun god).

The Nubian pyramids from Sudan served as tombs for the kings and queens of Jebel Barkal and Meroë. These Nubian Pyramids have different characteristics to their Egyptian counterparts, constructed at much steeper angles. These great tombs were still being built in Sudan as late as 300 CE.

An Illustration of different Pyramids around the globe

Far to the East, there were many flat-topped like pyramids built in China & Korea between 188 BCE and 675 CE. These huge mausoleums were built for the early emperors of China and their relatives. The ancient Chinese believed that when an emperor died, their soul entered the afterlife, so the mausoleums were constructed as heavenly palaces for their life hereafter.

All of the daily comforts of their past life such as servants, attendants, possessions, pets, wives, guardians, concubines, food and drink were to be provided for them in the after life. This was accomplished by burying all of these things with the deceased when they died. It was not uncommon to kill people in order to be buried with their master, but as dynasties evolved clay replicas replaced the real thing.

The Indonesia culture also featured pyramid structures such as Borobudur temple and Prang temple. These step pyramids were based on the native beliefs that mountains and high places are the abode for the spirit of the ancestors.

Across the Pacific Ocean, a number of Mesoamerican cultures also built pyramid-shaped structures. They were typically stepped, with temples on top (similar to the ziggurats of Mesopotamia). These temples were often used as places of human sacrifice. The ‘Pyramid of the Sun’ in Teotihuacán means “the place where men become Gods.” They claim that their pyramids were instruments for transforming the soul after death, just as the Egyptians did.

A recent series of pyramid-like structures were built by the Polynesians known as Pā (sacred hill forts). These stepped structures were carved from hill tops, forming a pyramid-like shape, and were often used as defensive settlements. The Polynesians believed these earth works were endowed with ‘mana’, a spiritual energy that granted them power and authority.

The common theme which links all these pyramid structures is death, authority, and immortality. These temples literally seemed to deify their occupants, who went on to rule from the heavens, their legacy secured and memorialized by the wondrous monuments of the ancients.

The Goddess Of A Thousand Faces: The Fertility Goddesses Of The Ancient World

There are literally thousands of different goddesses in world mythology, but perhaps the oldest is the fertility goddess. Hundreds of female effigies (known as the Venus figurines) can be found scattered around Europe and parts of Asia, dating from 35,000 BCE to 16,000 BCE (see images 1 – 7).

But with no written text to explain what they were used for, what chance do we have of deciphering their role in prehistory? Has their ritual significance been lost to the annals of time? Perhaps not. Some scholars believe it is possible to gain an understanding of their function by examining the functions of more recent artifacts.

It is possible to trace a connection between the prehistoric figurines and later statues which arose in the Neolithic and Bronze Age era. By studying the effigies of fertility goddess throughout history, four classic poses seem to emerge depicting their role.

a11. Breast offering pose (figure 1, 4, 12, 16); where she holds her hands around her bosom which suggested her function as a goddess of nourishment and fertility.

2. Upward arms stretch (figure 2, 11, 13, 17, 18); the figurine seems to reach to the heavens, signifying a celestial connection. This pose also accentuates her breasts which suggest a fertility function.

3. Seated pose (8, 10, 14, 15); typically found throughout the Neolithic (when humans adopted a domestic lifestyle). These figurines were often found in homes, suggesting a matriarchal figure who was revered by the villagers.

4. Voluptuous torso (3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 15, 19); the most common pose throughout history, small heads, wide hips, and legs which taper to a point. These figurines typically exaggerate the abdomen, hips, breasts, thighs, or vulva. In contrast, their arms and feet are often absent. This suggests they represent the tribal values of womanhood (nourishment, sexuality and propagation).

Recorded history began around 5500 years ago, where the earliest decipherable language emerged from Mesopotamia (cuneiform) and ancient Egypt (hieroglyphics). These civilizations have offered historians a significant insight into their mythology via the language they left us on clay tablets and painted artifacts.

One artifact, in particular, has made an appearance in many cultures throughout Eurasia, featuring heavily in their mythology. She is the goddess figurine of love, sex, and fertility. In Sumeria, she was known as Inanna (figure 12), in Akkad as Ishtar (figure 17), in ancient Egypt as Hathor (figure 19), and in Hellenistic Babylon as Astarte (figure 20).

Her dominion was widespread throughout the Middle East and the Mediterranean. She was also depicted as a warrior goddess, wielding a strong political influence as a diplomat. In some Ugaritic texts, she is said to have calmed the thunder-god Baal, averting him from the murder of his fellow deities.

This love goddess was associated with the moon, where she was said to give life as the moon waxed, and then diminish it as the moon waned. The light and dark aspects of her power are related to a story about her and her lover Tammuz, who annually descends to the underworld and is resurrected again by the love goddess. This lunar mythology illustrates her connection to the lunar cycles which rhythmically alter the fertility of the land.

In Mesopotamia, she was called “Mother of the Fruitful Breast“, ‘Queen of Heaven’, ‘Mother of Deities’, etc. Her pervasive mythology throughout Eurasia likens her to a powerful protective deity who protected the village and made the lands and its people healthy and fertile. She truly was an all mother, or at any rate a principal of fertility that guaranteed the long-term survival of the group.

Could it be that this goddess was active in our social consciousness as early as the Stone Age? All the Bronze Age icons mirror earlier poses from Venus figurines of the Paleolithic era (2 – 13, 7 – 19, 1 – 16). If this were the case, then this Earth Goddess figure would have been the first deity ever to enter man’s consciousness.

What’s more impressive is that she would have been worshipped for over 30,000 years before the advent of any other Gods. It wasn’t until the late Neolithic that we saw the arrival of divine beings like Tiamat (Mesopotamia) and Ra (Ancient Egypt).

This would make her the most ancient of all the gods, a legend who has been venerated longer than any other deity including Yahweh (who has only been worshipped for a sixth of her entire reign).

Secret Ciphers: The Forgotten Language Of The Ancients

Around the world there exist a number of undeciphered texts that date back as far as the Neolithic (8000 BCE). These ancient writing systems must be viewed with an open mind as they may have been composed with artistic intent, but its most likely they represent the origins of abstract thought and writing.

Many scholars have tried to decode these prehistoric ciphers, but so far, no one has cracked their arcane secrets. The knowledge they have could be mind-blowing, perhaps offering a glimpse into the rituals and myths of the ancient world – or they may be as mundane as a list of directions to the local village.

1379487_405463959579193_2126930485_nThese mysterious texts include:

The Jiahu symbols (6,600 BCE) resemble a proto-writing style composed of 16 distinct markings (found on a wooden tablet in Jiahu, China). Archaeologists believe these markings to be a proto-language to the later known ‘oracle bone script’ (a sacred text carved onto bone). The Oracle Bones were used for divination, suggesting that the ancient Jiahu symbols may have had a supernatural purpose.

The Vinča symbols originated in S.E. Europe at around 5,500 BCE. This mysterious script was etched into a series of clay amulets and is considered to be one of the oldest examples of “proto-writing” in the world. Some have linked these symbols to the Indo-Europeans, an ancient culture whose cultural heroics went onto inspire many of the mythical systems we know today (e.g. the Greek epics and Norse Sagas etc). The nature and purpose of the symbols remain a mystery to this day.

The Dispilio tablet (5260 BCE), is a wooden birch block which bears strange, symbolic markings. An old European folktale speaks of a primordial birch goddess who taught her people the craft of writing. Could it be that this tablet is in some way associated with the myth of Gods imparting knowledge to humans? Unlike other ideograms found in the Neolithic (picture based symbols), the Dispilio tablet seems to represent signs alluding to early phonetics, indicating advanced speech.

The Cretan Hieroglyphs were found on artifacts from Bronze Age Crete (1900 BCE). It predates Linear A texts by a century and was used in parallel for most of Minoan history. The Cretan symbols bear a naturalistic style of characters, typically resembling objects like plants, animals, weapons, ships and amorphous shapes. It is suggested they were based on ornamental and ritualistic functions whereas Linear A was employed in more mundane, administration ways.

The Phaistos Disc is a strange text written on a ceramic plate from the Minoan era (1600 BCE). Its strange layout and meaning remain a mystery to archaeology. Perhaps it is in the realm of mythology that a glimpse of its original purpose can be found. According to legend, Phaistos was the city that gave birth to one of the seven sages of the old world, Epimenides. Legend tells us that he slept in Zeus’s cave and acquired the powers of prophecy. His skin was said to be covered with tattooed symbols similar to that of the Phaistos Disc. Is it possible the disk contains the secrets of Cretan wisdom and divination?

Finally, there is the Cascajal Block (900 BCE), a stone tablet from the Olmec civilization. this tablet was scored with strange symbols which many believe represent the earliest writing system in the New World. The block holds a total of 62 glyphs, some of which resemble plants, animals and vegetables. Many of the symbols are abstract, and unlike any other writing system found in Mesoamerica before or after. Some suggest that it was used as a signpost directing travelers to a local market, others that they represent clan names for merchants and royalty. It has even been hinted that it is a map that leads to a lost Olmec city, laden with treasure.
