Located deep within the depths of the Ybytyruzú mountain range, in Paraguay, stands the imposing enigma of Itá Letra (‘Piedra con Letra’), a place that is home to a set of indescribable petroglyphs, which for a long time were presumed to have been Viking in nature. The enigmatic set of petroglyphs date back to around 5,000 BC and feature numerous symbols. However, the most prominent of them all are the engravings which are believed to depict ‘Star Maps’ or Constellations.
Nevertheless, recent investigations discard this theory, noting that this ’ancient’ script still remains undecipherable and was most likely created by ancient Paraguayan inhabitants.
It is noteworthy to mention that even before archaeological surveys of the area, explorers from different parts of the world were known to visit this place frequently, attracted by the version that the figures were inscribed by Nordic explorers, thousands of years ago, and even before ‘Columbus’ stumbled across America.
From this proto-scientific explanation, several other myths proliferated; among them, the Viking origin of the population known as Guayakí, people who dominated the Ybytyruzú mountain range until a few decades ago.
The enigmatic set of inscriptions were studied by a team of archaeologists from the Museo de Altamira (Spain) in 2010.
The researchers concluded that the figures were elaborated by natives of the area, between the years 5,000 and 2,500 BC, thus discarding Scandinavian Vikings as possible authors.
Thanks to this study, it was possible to register, document and interpret most of the symbols of Itá Letra.
The results are stunning, from Star maps to every-day objects.

The symbols represent constellations, footprints of felines or birds, female sexual organs, among other objects that the inhabitants of that time perceived and reproduced in their caves.
They were communities who inhabited the region prior to the Avá Guaraní people.
The best-known set of symbols, located on the surface, exhibits more abstract strokes that have not been interpreted, formed by curved and straight lines.
These mysterious symbols are believed to have been ‘written’ around 2,500 BC.
These last petroglyphs of Itá Letra are a palpable sample of the secrets that hide deep within the South America continent, which is more ancient and mysterious than we can imagine.

Scientists concluded that this could be an important piece of evidence that the ancient Vikings of the ninth and 10th centuries were greatly influenced by Islam.
According to experts, the presence of Arabic script invoking the name of “Allah” in ninth- and 10th-century Norse burial clothes indicates that Islamic afterlife beliefs had great spiritual significance to ancient Norseman who were buried in the clothes.
This, in turn, directly suggests that some of them were Muslims who practiced the Islamic faith or even may have held afterlife beliefs that they identified with the beliefs of the Islamic faith.
“In the Quran, it is written that the inhabitants of Paradise will wear garments of silk, which along with the text band’s inscriptions may explain the widespread occurrence of silk in Viking Age graves,” said Annika Larsson, an expert in textile archaeology at Uppsala University’s Department of Archaeology and Ancient History.
However, it is noteworthy to mention that this is not the first time that Islamic artifacts have been discovered at Norse archaeological sites. Archaeologists have long insisted that the Islamic artifacts found at various Norse archaeological sites could be have been the result of loot obtained during raids.
Some experts maintain that some items directly linking the Norse to Islam may have been procured through trade.
“That we so often maintain that Eastern objects in Viking Age graves could only be the result of plundering and eastward trade doesn’t hold up as an explanatory model,” Larsson added. “The inscriptions appear in typical Viking Age clothing that have their counterparts in preserved images of Valkyries.”

It is believed that Bharadwaja made approximately 500 guidelines describing in details aviation and other technologies, present on earth thousands of years ago.
However, the authors note that the current manuscript features only between 100 to 120 guidelines. Experts are convinced that foreign rulers who invaded India stole many of these manuscripts, studying them to produce many of the technologies we see today on Earth.
These reports seem to back the Vaimānika Śāstra, an early 20th-century Sanskrit text said to describe in great detail aerospace technology claiming that ‘Vimānas’ mentioned in ancient Sanskrit epics were in fact advanced aerodynamic flying vehicles, similar to modern-day rockets capable of interplanetary flight, as suggested by the popular Ancient Astronaut Theory.
The texts were revealed in 1952 by G. R. Josye and contain 3000 shlokas in 8 chapters. The propulsion of the Vimānas, according to Kanjilal (1985), is by “Mercury Vortex Engines,” a concept similar to electric propulsion.
The authors said the aircraft the sage described is capable of traveling between countries, continents, and planets. According to the authors, this proves the aviation system in the ancient world was very advanced, more so than what exists today, and that most of the technologies that existed on Earth thousands of years ago, before the rise of ‘modern civilization’ are now completely gone, missing not only from society but from history books as well.
What the authors presented from the manuscript is mindboggling. Many scientists at the conference were marveled. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, Rajan Welukar said: “there is no reason to believe in what they say about the Vedas, but it is something that is worth studying.”
What if ancient civilizations misinterpreted alien visitors as ‘Gods’?
Interestingly, many studies have offered contradictive results when studying the feasibility of ‘ancient flying machines’.
in 1974, a study by the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore found that the heavier-than-air aircraft that the Vaimānika Śāstra described were aeronautically unfeasible.
But despite this fact, there are still many authors and scholars who are convinced that these ancient machines were in fact blueprints of highly advanced flying machines. Some of these researchers and scholars encourage aggressive inquiry into ancient books discussing technology that may surpass our very own today, in the 21st century.
Captain Anand J Bodas is quoted by the Mumbai Mirror as saying “modern science is unscientific” because it considers things it does not comprehend as not possible. He is further quoted as saying, “The Vedic or rather ancient Indian definition of an airplane was a vehicle which travels through the air from one country to another country, from one continent to another continent, from one planet to another planet.”
