Study outlines how JWST and Ariel could team up on exoplanet atmospheres

Astronomers want to collect as much data as possible using as many systems as possible. Sometimes that requires coordination between instruments. The teams that run the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the upcoming Atmospheric Remote-sensing Infrared Exoplanet Large-survey (Ariel) missions will have plenty of opportunity for that once both telescopes are online in the early 2030s. A new paper, available in pre-print on arXiv, from the Ariel-JWST Synergy Working Group details just how exactly the two systems can work together to better analyze exoplanets.

Strong correlations and superconductivity observed in a supermoiré lattice

Two or more graphene layers that are stacked with a small twist angle in relation to each other form a so-called moiré lattice. This characteristic pattern influences the movement of electrons inside materials, which can give rise to strongly correlated states, such as superconductivity.

How a certain form of dark matter may lead to the generation of cosmological magnetic fields

Tiny highly uniform magnetic fields are known to pervade the universe, influencing various cosmological processes. To date, however, the physical mechanisms underpinning the generation of these fields remain poorly understood. Recently, researchers at McGill University and ETH Zurich have described a novel mechanism that may lead to the generation of cosmological magnetic fields. This mechanism, outlined in a paper published in Physical Review Letters, involves a (pseudo-scalar) quantum field that may give rise to the existence of ultralight dark matter consisting of particles with extremely low mass that interact with ordinary matter only very weakly.

Sky Cars Are Here and Some Look Like a Flying Saucer

YouTube Video Here: https://www.youtube.com/embed/LNfOx8SKfBo?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1

Sky Cars

The idea of air travel by sky car or flying saucer has been around for decades, with patents by Alexander Weygers and Nikola Tesla from the Roaring Twenties.

Now, numerous inventors are hoping to make the dream a reality at last, with plans for vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (VTOL) vehicles.

In a few years, owning your own saucer-like personal aircraft may finally become accessible, at least for a wealthy few.

Flying Saucer-Like ‘Skyriders’???

A Canadian company called Daymak has introduced a lineup of electric vehicles as part of an eco-friendly campaign called Green Army.

The vehicles are called the Avvenire Series and include:

  • Solar-powered Ebikes
  • All-terrain ATV
  • Autonomous driving Scooter
  • Auto-pilot E-Car
  • Skyrider personal flying vehicle

There, tucked in on the end of the lineup at left is the flying saucer-like Skyrider.

“No longer the fodder of our imaginations, the SKYRIDER is a high-performance electric vehicle capable of flying,” states Clean Technica.

To be sure, one would think the Skyrider would be front and center. Maybe featuring a flying saucer prominently would overshadow an also-exciting lineup of eco-friendly ground vehicles?

On the website, the company highlights what the Skyrider means, “No more traffic jams. Your personal flying vehicle. We are all meant to fly.”

If we are all meant to fly, then maybe one day it will become affordable for anyone to own a personal flying vehicle? We can hope!

Specs for a Flying Saucer

Finally, we now have the specs for a saucer-like craft that you can buy yourself.

Of course, it’s not going to compare with UFOs’ abilities, as seen in recent Navy footage. No, these flying saucers are operating at speeds topping out at 186 miles per hour (300 km/h). Thus, they won’t be flying with anti-gravity lift or exhibiting instantaneous acceleration to 3,600 miles an hour.

Nevertheless, having a personal flying saucer that can fly for 62 miles per battery charge is impressive for earthbound people. Instead of fancy anti-gravity, it flies similar to a drone, with a flying saucer-like look.

“When DaVinci thought of the first flying machine, this is how he envisioned the world. This is what dreams are made of; this is the new reality – because you were born to fly,” states the website.

Using fully autonomous flight, one doesn’t need to be a pilot to use this aircraft. A 4G/5G network communicates with a control center, enabling remote control.

Complete with Cup Holder

Today, the company is taking deposits for the Skyrider, with deliveries expected by 2025. Order details show an ultimate package with heated seats, solar charging, and finger scan keys.

Would a genuine Tic Tac UFO have a cup holder? Well, this one has it, as well as air conditioning and optional branded keychain and coffee mug.

Presently, the cost is estimated around the price of a high-end sports car or small McMansion. You can see what the Skyrider looks like in the tweet below.

Electric Flying Cadillac

Early last month, General Motors debuted its futuristic concept for an electric flying taxi. Like the Skyrider, it’s a giant-sized self-driving drone geared for the luxury market.

In design, it’s sleek and futurist. Best of all, it could save people time hopping from rooftops rather than getting stuck in congested traffic on the ground. That would be so beneath anyone with this Cadillac.

Traveling at 55 miles per hour, the sky Cadillac holds one passenger at a time.

From PC Mag:

“The Cadillac Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) vehicle represents the company’s first attempt in air mobility. The goal is to create an air taxi service that generates zero emissions. ‘We’re preparing for a world where advances in electrics and autonomous technology make personal air travel possible,’ said Michael Simcoe, GM’s vice president of global design.”

Inside, the cabin has wraparound lounge seating, biometric sensors, voice control, and hand gesture recognition, reports Reuters. Previously, several other car manufacturers showed concept aerial vehicles.

See the Cadillac VTOL below from SMG Consulting LLC:

Flying Cars on the Horizon

Joining the Skyrider and flying Cadillac, plans for flying cars with open-air cockpits are in the works.

An Austin, Texas startup has designs for a “flying car” called HEXA by LIFT Aircraft. It doesn’t look anything like the DeLorean from Back to the Future and is more of a huge drone than a car really.

From the Austin Business Journal:

“HEXA by LIFT Aircraft is an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) single-passenger wingless multi-copter ultralight. It’s basically a huge done-like vehicle that can transport a single passenger. The flying car was on display Feb. 6 at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, and officials said it could be available to the public by the end of this year.”

The multi-copter is a joint effort by aerospace manufacturers from Vermont, California, and Austin. Together, they are building electric charging stations and simulators where pilots can learn how to fly.

Notably, a joystick operation allows pilots to guide the HEXA with relative ease. Hey, maybe all those video games could pay off after all?

“HEXA is a vehicle described as the world’s first personal eVTOL flying experience. The aircraft’s ultra-light designation means it does not require certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. It also does not require a pilot’s license to fly,” writes the Journal.

See the HEXA in action below:

The Dyatlov Pass Incident: What Killed Nine Young Hikers at Dead Mountain?

Dyatlov Pass Incident

Russia’s Dyatlov Pass Incident is one of the creepiest, most mysterious true stories ever told.

In January 1959, during the height of the Cold War, nine young Urals Polytechnic Institute students in their 20s and 30s went hiking in the Ural Mountains. All were experienced hikers and skiers, but none were prepared for what was about to happen.

Their goal was to reach the mountain Gora Otorten. It was to be a 200-mile adventure in all.

On February 1, the group set up their tent on the slopes of the Kholat Syakhl. In the Indigenous Mansi people’s language, the words roughly translate to “Dead Mountain.”

After weeks, parents and the university started looking for them, but no one would see them alive again. Diaries and cameral rolls left behind in the tent reveal clues about their final moments.

Unknown Compelling Force

Weeks later, investigators find their tent flattened and their bodies scattered widely in the surrounding area. Sadly, the seven men and two women all suffered a forever unexplained end.

Official list the cause of death as “an unknown compelling force” and “the spontaneous power of nature.”

It was as if some of them had been struck with the force of a car. Otherwise, there weren’t any outward signs of violence. Notably, only their footprints were found, and no signs of animals or intruders. The spacing of the footprints indicated they were walking at a normal pace.

A Search for Months

It took over two months to find all the hikers. First, two bodies were found near a cedar tree, naked apart from underwear, with temperatures as low as -40 degrees. Some of the bodies were wearing pieces of clothing belonging to other hikers.

Days later, more bodies were found, in varying stages of undress. Even stranger, they suffered from unexplainable injuries, internal fractures, broken ribs, and discolored skin. Finally, after two months and warming temperatures, searchers found the last of the bodies, buried beneath 13 feet of snow.

Mysterious Clues

The student who found the tent said it “was half torn down and covered with snow. It was empty, and all the group’s belongings and shoes had been left behind.”

A camping stove was still unassembled as if they had never been able to use it.

An unknown force caused massive chest and skull fractures. Two of the bodies were missing their eyes, and one had no tongue or lips. For some reason, there was radioactive material on some of the clothes.

At the funerals, attendants noticed their loved ones’ skin had turned orange, and their hair was gray.

Wild Theories Abound

Since then, nobody has explained what killed the hikers, with theories varying from:

  • Attack by extraterrestrials
  • Sudden small avalanche
  • Violent Katabatic wind
  • Secret KGB weapons testing
  • Death by the Yeti
  • A murder cover-up

In 2019, on the 60th anniversary of the deaths, Expedition Unknown shared the story. Host Josh Gates discusses a document showing Soviet investigators may have known about the hikers’ deaths by February 6. But supposedly, they didn’t find the tent until February 26?

According to National Geographic, “Soviet bureaucracy kept the case quiet.” Recently, Russian authorities reopened the investigation. (see below)

See the clip from Expedition Unkown below:

Flying Orbs and Aircraft

Witnesses who were mountain climbers claimed to see orange orbs flying in the area the night of the incident. Area residents, meteorologists, and soldiers confirmed the orb sightings.

Some victims’ relatives believed some unknown military testing could have caused the deaths. A June 29, 2020 petition to the prosecutor general Dyatlov Case, some believed the deaths were due to “negligence on behalf of the rocket engineers who made a mistake in the design of the hull or engine of the aircraft, unsuccessful launch, and sabotage.”

Official Cause: Avalanche and Poor Visibility

After reopening the case in 2019, Russian authorities once again ruled the cause for the mysterious deaths was an avalanche and poor visibility. The avalanche “forced the group out of their tents to shelter under a nearby ridge. Lack of visibility then prevented their return.”

“It was a heroic struggle. There was no panic. But they had no chance to save themselves under the circumstances,” said Andrey Kuryakov. “The version (of the events) about the avalanche has found its full confirmation, but it was not the only cause of their death,” he continued.

After the avalanche forced them to leave the tent, they huddled in a nearby mountain ridge. From there, some of the group tried to return to the tent but got lost and froze to death, according to the official report by Andrey Kuryakov, deputy head of the regional prosecutor’s office.

However, many questions remain, including why they were in a state of undress and what caused the massive internal injuries? If it was an avalanche, the typical death is due to asphyxiation.

Although an avalanche supposedly hit, the tent was near the surface, sticking out of the snow.

Further, there was no sign of an avalanche at the location. According to Heavy, “in over 100 expeditions to the region since the incident, no one has reported conditions creating an avalanche.” The slope seemed too mild to have been the site of an avalanche.

Computer Models Suggest Freak Avalanche

Today, after 62 years, scientists offer new explanations for the Dyatlov Pass Incident. Most recently, National Geographic suggests science has the answer after using computer models to run avalanche simulations. Strangely, the models use animation from the movie Frozen and car crash experiments.

Two Swiss researchers used the film’s snow animation code, avalanche simulation models, and car crash impact models. They found that a small avalanche merely 16 feet across could have caused the traumatic injuries seen in the victims. It would be a very rare perfect storm, at an “exact spot, at that exact moment, during that one very wintery night.”

“The researchers’ computer models demonstrated that a 16-foot-long block of hefty snow could, in this unique situation, handily break the ribs and skulls of people sleeping on a rigid bed. These injuries would have been severe, but not fatal—at least not immediately,” reported National Geographic.

Thus, a swift-moving slab of snow hit the campers as they slept. Three people were severely injured in the avalanche while the others tried to move them to safety. Lost in the dark, they had no chance to survive.

Further Explanations

Further explanations suggest the hiker’s state of undress may have been caused by paradoxical undressing.

Clothing left with radioactive traces may have been caused by camping lanterns containing thorium.

Animals may have scavenged the bodies, resulting in missing eyes and tongue.

Thus, the experienced hikers were caught off guard by a freakish avalanche, unaware the seemingly gentle slope was treacherous beneath their campsite.

Was it a small freakish avalanche that caused the hikers’ death that night? Nobody knows for sure, but one of the researchers involved, Alexander Puzrin, says for him, “This is a story of courage and friendship.”

CIA Declassifies Thousands of UFO Documents Ahead of UAP Report

UFO

Last year, Senator Marco Rubio created a stir in a June 17 Select Committee on Intelligence report. The Senator from Florida requested a detailed analysis from Navy Intelligence’s “Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force.”

Thanks to that request, the task force’s existence went public. Also, we learned of Rubio’s request for a report from the director of naval intelligence.

That request was attached to the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021. After signing the Act, the report would be due within 180 days. So, the report should come out roughly in June 2021.

36 Alien Civilizations in the Milky Way?

The timing of Rubio’s request was interesting since it came a day after a new study suggested 36 intelligent alien civilizations could be active in the Milky Way.

If communicating civilizations could survive for a century, hundreds of civilizations could live on Earth-like exoplanets. However, if intelligence arose and soon died out, it would be a bad sign indeed for us on Earth.

Researchers from the University of Nottingham published the study in The Astrophysical Journal.

See some criticism about the study from the SETI Institute:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atGYcD7Y4Xk

‘Advanced Aerial Threats’ Attached to COVID-19 Relief Bill?

When Donald Trump signed a $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief bill on December 27, it included the Intelligence Authorization Act. Thus, Rubio’s request for a report on “Advanced Aerial Threats” was official. Within 180 days, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon, the FBI, and other spy agencies would need to comply.

The agencies would submit their report to congressional intelligence and armed services committees and update them “on unidentified aerial phenomena (also known as ‘anomalous aerial vehicles’), including observed airborne objects that have not been identified.”

Details of UAPs Over Restricted Airspace

Notably, the committee requested many specific items, detailed by KPIC News:

  1. A detailed analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena data and intelligence reporting collected or held by the Office of Naval Intelligence, including data and intelligence reporting held by the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force
  2. A detailed analysis of unidentified phenomena data collected by: a. geospatial intelligence; b. signals intelligence; c. human intelligence; and d. measurement and signals intelligence
  3. A detailed analysis of data of the FBI, which was derived from investigations of intrusions of unidentified aerial phenomena data over restricted United States airspace
  4. A detailed description of an interagency process for ensuring timely data collection and centralized analysis of all unidentified aerial phenomena reporting for the Federal Government, regardless of which service or agency acquired the information.
  5. Identification of an official accountable for the process described in paragraph 4
  6. The identification of potential aerospace or other threats posed by the unidentified aerial phenomena to national security, and an assessment of whether this unidentified aerial phenomena activity may be attributed to one or more foreign adversaries
  7. Also: Identification of any incidents or patterns that indicate a potential adversary may have achieved breakthrough aerospace capabilities that could put United States strategic or conventional forces at risk
  8. Recommendations regarding increased collection of data, enhanced research and development, and additional funding and other resources.”

As you can see, the report must contain information on UAPs regardless of which agency or service collected the data. Furthermore, it must detail any known technologies that countries like China or Russia may be using.

2,700 Pages Dating From the 40s to 90s

Now, the CIA has released thousands of PDF documents dating from the 40s to the early 90s. However, it seems unrelated to Rubio’s request, though many news sites reported it as a response.

Following the release, the Black Vault made the redacted documents downloadable in searchable PDF format. It contains data from a CD-Rom obtained from the CIA by the privately run archive’s John Greenewald Jr.

In some cases, documents are entirely blacked out. Interestingly, they remain blacked out even though some date back to the 40s.

“We’ll never know the truth. Why is that? If there’s nothing to this topic, why is it that this top always yields weird discoveries like, ‘Oops, we lost it?’” says Greenwald. “‘Oops, we shredded that material. We can’t find it.’”

Thus, it’s a story Greenwald has become accustomed to for over two decades.

Unrelated to the UAP Report?

John Greenewald Jr. released a video marking the occasion. (See below) Since the early 80s, it’s the biggest release of UFO-related CIA documents.

As noted, Greenwald says the release isn’t related to the UAP report required within 180 days.

“There’s absolutely zero connection to that,” says Greenwald Jr. “This release was not a surprise data dump by the CIA.”

Within a couple of days of release, over 1.7 million people requested the files, a record in over 25 years for the Black Vault.

“It has been an incredible ride to see the response to this,” said Greenwald.

Therefore, public interest in learning more is overwhelming.

Heavily Redacted Pages, Some Interesting Highlights

Although there are many documents, Greenwald believes more remains private.

“Time and time again, US agencies want to give the illusion that they are being fully transparent and they are releasing everything they have on a particular topic; In this case: UFOs. But that is not true.”

In some cases, we learn some interesting tidbits of information.

In one case, a document notes that “interplanetary aspects and alien origin not being thoroughly excluded from consideration” are used. However, the CIA stated it wanted no connection to reports about the UFO subject. (see the video around 1:01:00 below)

Tabloid Fodder

On another document from a Ukrainian newspaper in 1993, there’s a sensational excerpt from a tabloid.

“As reported by the authoritative magazine, Canadian Weekly World News, US Intelligence received a 250-page file on the attack by a UFO on a military unit in Siberia. The file contains not only many documentary photographs and drawings but also testimonies by actual participants in the events. One of the CIA representatives referred to this case as “a horrific picture of revenge on the part of extraterrestrial creatures, a picture that makes one’s blood freeze.”

Thus, the tabloid filler seems to be included to throw off true researchers. By inundating the public with garbage, they can quickly lose interest.

The Tip of the Iceberg?

Despite the redactions and filler material, Greenwald believes that overall, the volume of documents reaffirms UAPs could be “a big national security threat.”

Although there are thousands of files, it’s just the “tip of the iceberg” with an “amazing history and story to be told,” he says. However, these documents aren’t going to provide “the smoking gun.”

“The potential threat behind UAPs is palpable. When you look at documents, when you look at cases within the US government, you can see, going back decades, how much of a threat there could be,” he says.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more when the UAP report comes out sometime over the summer. Given the history, it’s perfectly reasonable to assume the public still won’t get the full picture.

UFOs Flying Over Uranium Mines in 1952

See the Black Vault video with some of the more interesting pages below. At around 53:00, Greenwalt discusses a UFO diagram from the 1952 Belgian Congo. Witnesses saw metallic flying saucers about 15 feet across with flames coming out around the rim.

The UFOs were flying over uranium mines, taking off 700 feet in seconds, or 932 mph. At times, they flew a few feet from the treetops before taking off.

Certainly, there was no technology of this kind in 1952.

Is There a Connection Between Petroglyphs in Georgia and Bronze Age Europe?

Petroglyphs found in Georgia show a possible connection between some of the earliest archaeological sites in the United States and Bronze Age Europe.

Symbols found etched into stone are remarkably similar. At one ancient site in Savannah, Georgia, some also point to possible connections with the Mesoamericans. Nevertheless, today, those sites are obscure and, in one case, merely relegated to the side of a desolate highway overpass.

The Uchee or Yuchi Tribe

The Uchee (also spelled Euchee, Outchee, Uchi, or Yuchee), Creek, and Seminole tribes that created these sites long ago were uprooted and all-but-destroyed when Europeans arrived in the late 1600s. The name the Uchee gave themselves was Tsoyaha or Coyaha, “Children of the Sun.”

These Native Americans spoke a unique language unrelated to any other, which is endangered today. However, remaining ancestors are working to restore their heritage before it’s lost forever.

# 787 We celebrate the Tsoyaha Yudgiha for many reasons… Today, they are a very much forgotten Indigenous people that…

Posted by Yuchi (Tsoyaha) Indigenous People on Wednesday, October 7, 2020

One of those ancestors is Richard L. Thornton, who describes himself as an author, architect, and city planner with Creek and Uchee Indian heritage. Thornton is the architect for Oklahoma’s Trail of Tears Memorial in Tulsa.

The Home of the Sun

Thornton points out that the Uchee believe their ancestors were from across the ocean.

“Since their first contacts with the Georgia colonists in 1733, the Uchee have consistently stated that their ancestors came across the Atlantic Ocean from the “home of the sun” and first landed at the mouth of the Savannah River,” writes Thornton.

If true, his theories mean that the Uchee descended from people living some 4,600 miles across the Atlantic.

Signs Almost Forgotten

After studying the petroglyphs and ancient sites, Thornton believes ancient mariners from Scandinavia traveled to Georgia thousand of years ago. In the pursuit of gold in the Georgia Gold Belt, they interacted with Native people, leaving behind signs. Signs they left behind:

  • Language similarities
  • Cultural symbols
  • Petroglyphs
  • Burial mounds
  • Other ancient sites

For example, Thornton suggests the Tugaloo River’s name may have been derived from the Gaelic word, Togha-re, meaning “Best, Great, or Principal People.” In Creek Indian, the similar word, Tokahle, means “freckled.” Afterward, the 18th century Cherokee version, Dagalu, became the one that is recognized.

Ruins of Ancient Culture

Pioneering archaeologist Charles C. Jones Jr. described the ancient sites in the Southern US in his book, The Antiquities of the Southern Indians. The book was published in 1873.

Jones described the sites that English-speaking settlers found when they arrived in the south.

“When English-speaking settlers came into the Georgia Piedmont and Mountains, they also encountered many stone structures throughout the landscape. There were many stone-walled terraces, stone altars, and even the ruins of ancient stone buildings.”

However, within a generation, the mysterious structures were gone and almost forgotten. Thinking the Native Americans primitive, they believed the structures were the Spanish or Welsh Prince Madoc’s work.

Petroglyphs Pointing to Far Away

Previously, we shared Thornton’s story about 4,000-year-old petroglyphs found in Georgia. While studying in Landskrona, Sweden, Thornton was shocked when he recognized symbols on Ven Island, Sweden.

Although mainstream archaeologists may quickly call it pseudo-archaeology, we share it with our open minds for your consideration.

Bronze Age petroglyphs in Sweden featured the symbol of the Sacred Fire by the Creek and Uchee. Also, the Swedish burial mounds called gravhöger looked like the burial mounds in the Southeastern US and Ohio.

“I immediately noticed that all of the symbols on the boulders were also sacred symbols of the Creek Indians. I am Creek. This disturbing discovery has been at “the back of my head” in the decades since then,” he wrote.

At first, he avoided discussing the similarity between Scandinavian Bronze Age and Creek art. However, after many years of contemplation, he began actively researching the subject. From there, he began sharing what he found on the “People of One Fire” YouTube channel and “The Americas Revealed” site.

Shared Petroglyph Symbols

One example of the petroglyphs is concentric circles, like ripples in water. According to Thornton, these ripples were considered time portals by Uchee priests.

By looking at them, the priests could determine the past and the future. Notably, these symbols are seen all over the world, with some similar ones dating back 40,000 years. However, they also closely resemble Newgrange’s spirals in Ireland, dating back to 3,300-2,900 BC.

Thornton points out the ripples from the Reinhardt Boulder in Georgia are identical to those found in County Kerry, Ireland. In addition, he found symbols of stars, hexagons, and the Solar Cross called a Sun Wheel in Europe.

To us, it calls to mind the “Camunion Rose” from Lombardy, Italy.

The Metcalf Stone

The Metcalf Stone found in central Georgia near the Chattahoochee River bears symbols resembling the Linear A script. However, that language originated in the Minoan civilization from Crete during the Bronze Age.

Dr. Joseph Mahan from Columbus State University theorized the Creek were descendants of people from Crete. Many critics discredited the finding as “bad archaeology.” However, take a look for yourself and decide what you think.

See more about the Metcalf Stone via People Of One Fire:

Track Rock Gap Petroglyphs

Located in Blairsville, GA, the Track Rock Gap site is quick to point out there is “no archeological evidence of any Mayan connection.” Thornton is quick to point out that most of the glyphs are not Mayan. However, he discovered symbols that resembling Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec/ Mayan God on Boulder Six.

On other boulders, he saw many symbols that reminded him of Scandinavian Bronze Age symbols.

The Tugaloo Stone

At the rear of the Traveler’s Rest State Historic Site, the Tugaloo Stone features an unmistakable boat. Originally the stone was located near the Tugaloo River on a major trade path. Thornton notes the stone was moved and place upside down for over 200 years.

When rotated, the Tugaloo Stone features what looks identical to Bronze Age Minoan and Phoenician boats. On the other side, symbols that appear to be constellations and a UFO appears.

Morgan Falls Stone Boat

The Morgan Falls Archaeological Zone is found East of Roswell, Georgia, on the Chattahoochee River. There, a large stone boat burial monument resembles those found in Scandinavia. (see in the video)

The Roberts Petroglyph

At the Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs, Georgia, a 600-pound stela (carved monument) features a striking figure. Named the Roberts Petroglyph, the stela exactly resembles a Caribbean Taíno(Arawak) zemí spirit symbol.

Mow Hill Petroglyph

At Long Swamp Creek, east of Jasper, Georgia, archaeologist Robert Wauchope found an unusual petroglyph in 1939. To us, it seems to resemble a UFO, but Thornton notes it may resemble an Itzamná calendar, with notches like a sundial.

Bilbo Mound, Savannah, Georgia

Today, sites that could date back to 3545 BC are found near downtown Savannah, Georgia. The oldest of these, the Bilbo Mound, is now all-but-forgotten. From the air, Google Earth photos show that it could be a geoglyph seen from the air, similar to Serpent Mound, Ohio. Notably, the design seems to point to a Mesoamerican Rain Goddess.

Seeing Ancient Sites with New Eyes ?

These are just a few of the sites that Thornton and People of One Fire have researched. Certainly, there is more to the story than meets the eye. These ancient sites and petroglyphs deserve new eyes to see them without restrictions imposed by conventional timelines, don’t you think?

Ancient cultures give us invaluable insights, and we are only just beginning to fully understand and reconcile with our past. We hope that modern archaeologists and researchers will do more to preserve and understand Uchee sites like those in Georgia.
