Rare high-resolution observations of a flare-prolific solar active region

Scientists have captured an exceptionally rare, high-resolution view of an active region that produced two powerful X-class solar flares—an achievement rarely possible from Earth. Using the GREGOR solar telescope in Tenerife, researchers recorded the explosive activity of the sun’s most energetic sunspot group of 2025, revealing twisted magnetic structures and the early stages of flare ignition with unprecedented detail. The flares triggered fast coronal mass ejections that lit up Earth’s skies with vivid auroras in the nights that followed.

Astronomers unveil 400 sibling star clusters in the Milky Way

Stars usually form in clusters, which can also form in pairs or groups. Binary clusters (BCs) are defined as pairs of open clusters closely associated both in position and kinematics. They provide insight into how stars form within giant molecular clouds, making them important indicators of star formation and cluster evolution.

Finding information in the randomness of living matter

When describing collective properties of macroscopic physical systems, microscopic fluctuations are typically averaged out, leaving a description of the typical behavior of the systems. While this simplification has its advantages, it fails to capture the important role of fluctuations that can often influence the dynamics in dramatic manners, as the extreme examples of catastrophic events such as volcanic eruptions and financial market collapse reveal.

Physicists generate hybrid spin-sound waves, expanding options for 6G implementation

Acoustic frequency filters, which convert electrical signals into miniaturized sound waves, separate the different frequency bands for mobile communications, Wi-Fi, and GPS in smartphones. Physicists at RPTU have now shown that such miniaturized sound waves can couple strongly with spin waves in yttrium iron garnet. This results in novel hybrid spin-sound waves in the gigahertz frequency range.

New universal law predicts how most objects shatter, from dropped bottles to exploding bubbles

When a plate drops or a glass smashes, you’re annoyed by the mess and the cost of replacing them. But for some physicists, the broken pieces are a source of fascination: Why does everything break into such a huge variety of sizes? Now, Emmanuel Villermaux at Aix-Marseille University in France and the University Institute of France has come up with a simple, elegant law for how objects shatter, whether they are brittle solids, liquid drops, or exploding bubbles.

Gilgamesh, The Sumerian Demigod: Two-Thirds God and One-Third Human

YouTube Video Here: https://www.youtube.com/embed/2pGhEu9elnA?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1

In Brief: Gilgamesh was an ancient ruler of the city of Uruk in the land of Sumer, Mesopotamia. Gilgamesh is described as a hero and a demigod who possessed superhuman strength. Gilgamesh was two-thirds God from his mother, the goddess Ninsun, and one-third human from his father, the former king of Uruk Lugalbunda. Historical evidence suggests that Gilgamesh built the city walls of Uruk to defend his people. Gilgamesh fought against the demon Humbaba (or Huwawa), along with his former enemy Enkidu. After killing the daemon, they brought his head back to Uruk on a raft, built from massive trees. Gilgamesh and Enkidu also defeated the Bull of Heaven sent by the furious goddess Ishtar after Gilgamesh refused to become her lover.

According to the Sumerian King List, Gilgamesh was the son of the goddess Ninsun and the Priest-King Lugalbanda.

Gilgamesh was the ruler of the district of Kulab and fifth king of the city Uruk (Erech in biblical texts, current Warqa, in Iraq) around the year 2750 BC. The Sumerian King List states him as a postdiluvian ruler, meaning that he lived after the great flood.

He is perhaps the best-known ancient Mesopotamian hero, as a number of tales, poems and legends have been told about Gilgamesh.

He succeeded King Lugalbanda and reigned for 126 years leaving the throne to his son Ur-Nungal, who ruled for 30 years.

He is perhaps best known from the Epic of Gilgamesh, (believed to have been written circa 2150—1400BCE) the great Sumerian poetic work, considered as the oldest piece of epic world literature, predating Homer’s writings by at least 1,500 years.

The Epic of Gilgamesh tells the story of how the citizens of Uruk, being oppressed, asked the gods for help, who sent to Earth a being named Enkidu to fight Gilgamesh and defeat him.

But the fight becomes very even, without a clear winner.

Finally, Enkidu recognizes Gilgamesh as a king and the two fighters become friends.

Together they decide to take a long journey in search of adventure, in which they face fantastic and dangerous, legendary animals.

In Gilgamesh’s absence, the goddess Inanna (known to the Babylonians as Ishtar and later as Astarte) cares for and protects the city.

Inanna declares her love to Gilgamesh, but he rejects her as he insists that Inanna has mistreated all her former lovers, provoking the wrath of the goddess, who in revenge sends the Bull of Heaven to destroy the two characters and the entire city.

Gilgamesh and Enkidu kill the Bull of Heaven and offer its heart to Shamash, but the gods are enraged by this fact and punish Enkidu with death.

Gilgamesh falls into a deep grief after the death of his friend (brother) and he begins to question the meaning of life, and the value of human accomplishment in the face of final extinction, as he cries out:

How can I rest, how can I be at peace? Despair is in my heart. What my brother is now, that shall I be when I am dead. Because I am afraid of death I will go as best I can to find Utnapishtim whom they call the Faraway, for he has entered the assembly of the gods. (Sandars, 97)

Gilgamesh, A Demigod? Ancient Alien? Or Mortal Human?

As Gilgamesh was the son of the Goddess Ninsun, he was considered a Demigod, one of the reasons why he is believed to have lived an exceptionally long life, since he is thought to have ruled over Uruk for 126 years. But in addition to his long life, Gilgamesh was thought to have had super-human strength.

Hercules anyone?

The most important and interesting thing is, in my opinion, that most historians mostly agree that Gilgamesh was a real, fresh and blood King, who ruled sometime between 2900 – 2350 BC.

Despite the fact that scholars have accepted Gilgamesh’s existence as an historical fact, it is hard to say when exactly he lived.

As explained by Stephanie Dalley, a scholar of the ancient Near East: “precise dates cannot be given for the lifetime of Gilgamesh, but they are generally agreed to lie between 2800 and 2500 BC.”

Evidence of his existence can be found in the Tummal Inscription, a thirty-four-line text written between 1953 –  1920 BC. The inscription credits Gilgamesh as the builder of the walls of Uruk.

“For a second time, the Tummal fell into ruin, Gilgamesh built the Numunburra of the House of Enlil. Ur-lugal, the son of Gilgamesh, Made the Tummal pre-eminent, Brought Ninlil to the Tummal.” —The Sumerians: Their History, Culture, and Character by Samuel Noah Kramer.

“Gilgamesh became the hero par excellence of the ancient world—an adventurous, brave, but tragic figure symbolizing man’s vain but endless drive for fame, glory, and immortality”

From historical records, poems and legends we know he existed, we know he was a powerful ruler, and we know that after his death, he was considered a God reborn, a deity which many later Mesopotamian rulers worshiped.

Gilgamesh was referred to as a God in a number of Sumerian Poems.

It must be noted that later Mesopotamian rulers, in the twenty-first century BC, would invoke his name and associate his lineage with their own.

Utu-hengal, the king of Uruk, adopted Gilgamesh as his patron deity.

King Shulgi of Ur (2029 – 1982 BC considered the greatest king of the Ur III Period (2047-1750 BCE)) declared himself the son of Lugalbanda and Ninsun and the brother of Gilgamesh.

Before Noah’s Great Flood: Here Are 3 Flood Stories That Predate The Bible

Evidence has been brought forward by a number of archaeologists who argue that a massive deluge swept across the Earth between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago.

Some argue that the historic flood may have happened, but not on a global scale, as there are those who argue that a flooding occurred in the area of what is today the Black Sea, an area many refer to as the ‘cradle of civilization’.

And while Noah’s story of the Flood may be one of the most popular ones, the truth is that it isn’t the only flood story out there.

In fact, there are a number of flood stories that predate the flood described in the Bible.

Flood myths can be traced back into the Bronze Age and Neolithic prehistory. Flood stories are often referred to as new starting points in human history.

Ancient Cuneiform Tablets and the Mesopotamian Flood

Translation of ancient cuneiform tablets discovered in the 19th century suggests the Mesopotamia Flood may have been an antecedent of Noah’s flood mentioned in the bible. The ancient Sumerian Nippur tablet is believed to describe the oldest account of the Great Flood and the creation of both humans and animals on Earth. It also records the names of Antediluvian cities on earth and their respective rulers.

In ancient Mesopotamian mythology, we find flood stories concerning the epics of Ziusudra, Gilgamesh, and Atrahasis.

In fact, the Sumerian King List divides its history into preflood (antediluvian) and postflood periods.

Before the flood had swept across the land, Earth was ruled by kings who had monstrous lifespans. In postflood myths, these lifespans were drastically reduced.

The Sumerian Flood Myth is described in the Deluge Tablet. It narrates the epic of Ziusudra, who, after finding out that the Gods plan to destroy humanity with a great flood, constructs a massive vessel which eventually saves him from the rising waters.

In the Sumerian King List, we read about the history of mankind, its Gods and rulers before the flood.

The Sumerian King list suggests how Eridu was the first city on Earth. In fact, according to Sumerian mythology, Eridu was one of the five ancient cities that were built on Earth before the Great Deluge.

The Sumerian King List reads:

“After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug. In Eridug, Alulim became king; he ruled for 28,800 years. Alaljar ruled for 36,000 years. 2 kings; they ruled for 64,800 years. Then Eridug fell and the kingship was taken to Bad-tibira. In Bad-tibira, En-men-lu-ana ruled for 43,200 years. En-men-gal-ana ruled for 28,800 years. Dumuzid, the shepherd, ruled for 36,000 years. 3 kings; they ruled for 108,000 years… Then the flood swept over.”

After the Great Flood, Kish is mentioned as the first city of the Gods.

“After the flood had swept over, and the kingship had descended from heaven, the kingship was in Kish.” A total of twenty-two kings ruled for a period of 16, 480 years, which make up the first dynasty of Kish.

The Aztec Story of the great flood

According to the ancient Aztecs, a massive flood swept across the lands.

No matter where we look, we find descriptions of a massive deluge that swept across the Earth in the distant past.

With a few differences, we can say that nearly all flood stories are similar in one way or another.

The Great Flood was supposedly sent by God or the gods upon the earth in order to destroy civilization as an act of divine punishment.

According to ancient mythology:

“Before the great flood which took place 4,800 years after the creation of the world, the country of Anahuac was inhabited by giants, all of whom either perished in the inundation or were transformed into fishes, save seven who fled into caverns. When the waters subsided, one of the giants, the great Xelhua, nicknamed the ‘Architect,’ traveled to Cholula, where, as a memorial of the Tlaloc which had served for an asylum to himself and his six brethren, he built an artificial hill in the form of a pyramid…”

Not far from the Aztecs we find another flood story sent by the Gods.

The Unu Pachakuti is, according to Incan mythology, a flood sent by the God Viracocha to destroy the people near Lake Titicaca. This great flood is said to have lasted for 60 days and 60 nights.

Before creating humans, Viracocha created a race of giants that inhabited Earth, but he destroyed them in a flood as they proved to be unruly. The giants were eventually turned into stone.

Viracocha, one of the most prominent Andean deities decides to save only two people, in the massive flood, giving mankind a fresh start, and bringing ‘civilization’ to the rest of the world.

The US Government On The Verge Of Confiscating Supposed Debris Of The Roswell UFO Crash

In 2011, a man discovered a number of artifacts in Roswell, New Mexico, where an alien spacecraft had supposedly crashed in 1947.

He took the mysterious metallic pieces to a number of labs for testing. Results came back showing that the mysterious artifacts were not from Earth.

“…either the lab made an analytical error or the material is not from Earth.”

The Roswell case, also dubbed the Roswell UFO incident, refers to the alleged crash of an alien spacecraft in Roswell, New Mexico, in the United States, on July 10. 1947.

The event marked the birth of modern ufology and led to numerous debates, theories, and speculations about the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Many others consider these claims totally unfounded.

But despite this, millions of people have since become firm believers in alien life, despite skeptics arguing that the event that occurred on July 10, 1947, was not related to extraterrestrial life in any way.

The ultimate truth is that when speaking about the Roswell crash, everyone wants’s evidence to back up the claims.

And while many people have claimed to have found pieces of the alleged UFO that crashed in New Mexico no one has approached the matter with scientific thinking.

That’s why in 2011, a UFO investigator said he discovered a peculiar material at the site where he believes the alien ship crashed in Roswell and even decided to perform lab tests on the strange piece, in order to prove it was part of a spaceship.

The man behind the ‘sensational’ discovery was Frank Kimbler who was a teacher of geology and earth sciences at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.

When Mr. Kimbler arrived for the first time as a professor in the area, he thought it would be cool to investigate the local UFO legend: the crash of an alleged extraterrestrial space ship alien ship.

He thought it would be fun to search the area where the UFO had allegedly crashed and disintegrated in 1947, as well as to research what the military may have done to cover up any evidence of a possible alien ship.

Eventually, Mr. Kimbler decided it would be a good idea to start off his investigation by analyzing different satellite photos. He found that certain areas where the alleged ship had crashed appeared to have been burned, with unnatural geological features.

Carrying a metal detector, he managed to sneak into the area and find fragments of a strange metal (probably an alloy), in addition to some buttons that match those used by military personnel in the middle of the last century.

According to Alejandro Rojas from openminds.Tv who covered the discovery in 2011, Mr. Kimbler discovered “that the object was most likely about ¾ of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide, and facing the direction witnesses had reported. He also noticed this area had very straight edges, something unusual for a natural occurrence.”

The information gathered via satellite images, and in-situ offered more questions than answers.

Mr. Kimbler’s goal was to find physical evidnece of the crash. Now that he had found it, his next step was to see what he had found

The most important discovery made by Mr. Kimbler was a silvery metal that resembled aluminum.

While exploring the area where aliens had allegedly crashed, he discovered more silvery pieces that seemed to have been shredded, and some of the edges of the artifacts even appeared melted.

After gathering enough physical evidence, Mr. Kimbler turned to the Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center where he showed his discoveries to the museum director, Julie Shuster, who introduced him to Don Schmitt.

The first tests were performed by New Mexico Tech in Socorro.

Scientists used microprobes to determine that the material Kimbler had found was aluminum, silicon, manganese and copper alloy.

Despite not being ‘unknown,’ or otherworldly, the material isn’t usually found in foil form.

With more questions than answers, Kimbler decided to obtain an isotopic analysis of the piece.

He turned to the University of New Mexico Institute of Meteoritics where he spoke with a researcher who was expert in isotopes.

Kimbler had not told the scientists anything about the piece he had brought.

As noted by Rojas in his piece for Openminds.tv, the research from the University of New Mexico Institute of Meteoritics told Kimbler that he wanted to test the piece as he suspected the material was from outer space.

Still without all the answers he needed, Bigelow Aerospace showed interest in helping Kimbler get to the bottom of the mystery. However, after months had gone by without any results, Kimbler decided to go elsewhere and find another lab where his piece could be adequately tested.

The money needed for the research was obtained by the UFO Museum. Eventually, the results came in, and everyone was left with a big surprise: Kimbler said that “either the lab made an analytical error or the material is not from Earth.”

Now, seven years into the study of the mysterious pieces, Kimbler says that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wants to confiscate the material he had found.

As explained in another article by Rojas for Openminds.tv, “initial isotopic ratio test done in conjunction with the Roswell International UFO Museum and Research Center was inconclusive but suggested the material may be of unearthly origins. Kimbler has continued research on the material and says he is close to proving the “ET origins of Roswell.”

And now that Kimbler says he is on the brink of proving how an alien ship did crash in Roswell in 1947, he is terrified that the government may confiscate his evidence.

“Kimbler was recently contacted by them and asked to bring the materials in on Monday, June 25. This news comes less than two weeks before the annual Roswell UFO festival,” explains ufo author Alejandro Rojas.

An excerpt of the email sent by Mr. Kimbler to Openminds.tv:

“The Bureau of Land Management contacted me today and requested that I bring the artifacts that I found down to their office in Roswell. They want their enforcement officer to look at the material and see if I’m in violation of US laws. [Their] own published document clearly says that anything less than 100 years old is not an artifact. It also says of human origin in all US laws. This a prelude to confiscation or fines or both. Seriously, folks, I’m one scientific test away from proving the ET origins of Roswell.”
