At one ancient site in Savannah, Georgia, some also point to possible connections with the Mesoamericans. Nevertheless, today, those sites are obscure and, in one case, merely relegated to the side of a desolate highway overpass.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Uchee or Yuchi Tribe<\/h2>\n<p>The Uchee (also spelled Euchee, Outchee, Uchi, or Yuchee), Creek, and Seminole tribes that created these sites long ago were uprooted and all-but-destroyed when Europeans arrived in the late 1600s. The name the Uchee gave themselves was\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/YuchiSpirit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tsoyaha<\/a>\u00a0or Coyaha,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.okhistory.org\/publications\/enc\/entry.php?entry=YU001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cChildren of the Sun.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These Native Americans spoke a unique language unrelated to any other, which is\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tennesseeencyclopedia.net\/entries\/yuchi-indians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">endangered today. <\/a>However, remaining ancestors are working to restore their heritage before it\u2019s lost forever.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p># 787 We celebrate the Tsoyaha Yudgiha for many reasons\u2026 Today, they are a very much forgotten Indigenous people that\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/YuchiSpirit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yuchi (Tsoyaha) Indigenous People<\/a> on\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/YuchiSpirit\/posts\/3371373509577604\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wednesday, October 7, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>One of those ancestors is\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Richard-L-Thornton\/e\/B08B6BJHWY?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&amp;qid=1609781128&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Richard L. Thornton,\u00a0<\/a>who describes himself as an author, architect, and city planner with Creek and Uchee Indian heritage. Thornton<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tulsahomeforsale.net\/creek-nation-council-oak-park-1750-south-cheyenne-avenue-tulsa-oklahoma-midtown-tulsa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0is the architect\u00a0<\/a>for Oklahoma\u2019s Trail of Tears Memorial in Tulsa.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Home of the Sun<\/h2>\n<p>Thornton points out that the Uchee believe their ancestors were from across the ocean.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSince their first contacts with the Georgia colonists in 1733, the Uchee have consistently stated that their ancestors came across the Atlantic Ocean from the \u201chome of the sun\u201d and first landed at the mouth of the Savannah River,\u201d\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kUrFuFFaUFs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">writes Thornton.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If true, his theories mean that the Uchee descended from people living some 4,600 miles across the Atlantic.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs Almost Forgotten\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>After studying the petroglyphs and ancient sites, Thornton believes ancient mariners from Scandinavia traveled to Georgia thousand of years ago. In the pursuit of gold in the Georgia Gold Belt, they interacted with Native people, leaving behind signs. Signs they left behind:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Language similarities<\/li>\n<li>Cultural symbols<\/li>\n<li>Petroglyphs<\/li>\n<li>Burial mounds<\/li>\n<li>Other ancient sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, Thornton suggests\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kUrFuFFaUFs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Tugaloo River\u2019s\u00a0<\/a>name may have been derived from the Gaelic word,\u00a0<em>Togha-re,<\/em>\u00a0meaning \u201cBest, Great, or Principal People.\u201d In Creek Indian, the similar word, Tokahle, means \u201cfreckled.\u201d Afterward, the 18th century Cherokee version,<em>\u00a0Dagalu<\/em>, became the one that is recognized.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ruins of Ancient Culture<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0Pioneering archaeologist Charles C. Jones Jr. described the ancient sites in the Southern US in his book,<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/muse.jhu.edu\/book\/962\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0The Antiquities of the Southern Indians.\u00a0<\/a>The book was published in 1873.<\/p>\n<p>Jones described the sites that English-speaking settlers found when they arrived in the south.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhen English-speaking settlers came into the Georgia Piedmont and Mountains, they also encountered many stone structures throughout the landscape. There were many stone-walled terraces, stone altars, and even the ruins of ancient stone buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, within a generation, the mysterious structures were gone and almost forgotten. Thinking the Native Americans primitive, they believed the structures were the Spanish or Welsh Prince Madoc\u2019s work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>See more in the video from<em>\u00a0People of One Fire<\/em>\u00a0below:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kUrFuFFaUFs<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Petroglyphs Pointing to Far Away<\/h2>\n<p>Previously, we shared Thornton\u2019s story about\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/4000-year-old-bronze-age-petroglyphs-sweden-became-sacred-symbols-georgias-creek-indians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4,000-year-old petroglyphs<\/a>\u00a0found in Georgia. While studying in Landskrona, Sweden, Thornton was shocked when he recognized symbols on Ven Island, Sweden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although mainstream archaeologists may quickly call it pseudo-archaeology, we share it with our open minds for your consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze Age petroglyphs in Sweden featured the symbol of the Sacred Fire by the Creek and Uchee. Also, the Swedish burial mounds called gravh\u00f6ger looked like the burial mounds in the Southeastern US and Ohio.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI immediately noticed that all of the symbols on the boulders were also sacred symbols of the Creek Indians. I am Creek. This disturbing discovery has been at \u201cthe back of my head\u201d in the decades since then,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At first, he avoided discussing the similarity between Scandinavian Bronze Age and Creek art. However, after many years of contemplation, he began actively researching the subject. From there, he began sharing what he found on the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0dgBMHewJYk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cPeople of One Fire\u201d<\/a>\u00a0YouTube channel and\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apalacheresearch.com\/2019\/09\/01\/people-of-one-fire-youtube-channel-contains-many-educational-videos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cThe Americas Revealed\u201d<\/a>\u00a0site.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shared Petroglyph Symbols\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>One example of the petroglyphs is concentric circles, like ripples in water. According\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=k09et4EgW4k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to Thornton,<\/a>\u00a0these ripples were considered time portals by Uchee priests.<\/p>\n<p>By looking at them, the priests could determine the past and the future. Notably, these symbols are seen all over the world, with some similar ones dating\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/paleoanthropologist-discovers-set-of-geometric-signs-used-around-the-world-40000-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">back 40,000 years.<\/a>\u00a0However, they also closely resemble Newgrange\u2019s spirals<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/newgrange-an-5000-year-old-cosmic-monument-that-predates-the-pyramids-by-500-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0in Ireland<\/a>, dating back to 3,300-2,900 BC.<\/p>\n<p>Thornton points out the ripples from the Reinhardt Boulder in Georgia are identical to those found in County Kerry, Ireland. In addition, he found symbols of stars, hexagons, and the Solar Cross called a Sun Wheel in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>To us, it calls to mind the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Camunian_rose\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cCamunion Rose\u201d<\/a> from Lombardy, Italy.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=E9mGPhSLLFA<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Metcalf Stone<\/h2>\n<p>The Metcalf Stone found in central Georgia near the Chattahoochee River bears symbols resembling the<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient.eu\/Linear_A_Script\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0Linear A script.<\/a>\u00a0However, that language originated in the Minoan civilization from Crete during the Bronze Age.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/archives.columbusstate.edu\/findingaids\/mc32.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Joseph Mahan<\/a>\u00a0from Columbus State University theorized the Creek were descendants of people from Crete. However, he discovered symbols that\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/history-reveals-fascinating-details-about-quetzalcoatl-the-white-alien-god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resembling Quetzalcoatl,<\/a>\u00a0the Aztec\/ Mayan God on Boulder Six.<\/p>\n<p>On other boulders, he saw many symbols that reminded him of Scandinavian Bronze Age symbols.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Tugaloo Stone<\/h2>\n<p>At the rear of the Traveler\u2019s Rest State Historic Site,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apalacheresearch.com\/2020\/06\/04\/the-tugaloo-stone-when-bronze-age-boats-came-up-the-savannah-river\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Tugaloo Stone<\/a>\u00a0features an unmistakable boat. Originally the stone was located near the Tugaloo River on a major trade path. Thornton notes the stone was moved and place upside down for over 200 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When rotated, the Tugaloo Stone features what looks identical to Bronze Age Minoan and Phoenician boats. There, a large stone boat burial monument resembles those found in Scandinavia. (see in the video)<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Roberts Petroglyph<\/h2>\n<p>At the Sweetwater Creek State Park in Lithia Springs, Georgia, a 600-pound stela (carved monument) features a striking figure. Named the Roberts Petroglyph, the stela exactly resembles a Caribbean Ta\u00edno(Arawak)\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thoughtco.com\/zemis-ritual-objects-of-ancient-taino-173257\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">zem\u00ed spirit symbol.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mow Hill Petroglyph<\/h2>\n<p>At Long Swamp Creek, east of Jasper, Georgia, archaeologist Robert Wauchope found an unusual petroglyph in 1939. To us, it seems to resemble a UFO, but Thornton notes it may resemble an\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Itzamna\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Itzamn\u00e1 calendar<\/a>, with notches like a sundial.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MHKXeyExQT0<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bilbo Mound, Savannah, Georgia<\/h2>\n<p>Today, sites that could date back to 3545 BC are found near downtown Savannah, Georgia. The oldest of these, the Bilbo Mound, is now all-but-forgotten. From the air,\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apalacheresearch.com\/2020\/02\/17\/savannahs-bilbo-mound-the-oldest-architecture-and-civil-engineering-in-north-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Earth photos<\/a>\u00a0show that it could be a geoglyph seen from the air, similar\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/the-eternal-mysteries-of-ohios-amazing-serpent-mound\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to Serpent Mound, Ohio.<\/a>\u00a0Notably, the design seems to point to a\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/peopleofonefire.com\/AnniversarySpecialE-zine.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mesoamerican Rain Goddess.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>See more about the Bilbo Mound below from the<em>\u00a0Looters Revue Show:<\/em><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Ld4IykuaUI<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seeing Ancient Sites with New Eyes\u00a0?<\/h2>\n<p>These are just a few of the sites that Thornton and\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0dgBMHewJYk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People of One Fire<\/a>\u00a0have researched. Certainly, there is more to the story than meets the eye. These ancient sites and petroglyphs deserve new eyes to see them without restrictions imposed by conventional timelines, don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n<p>Ancient cultures give us\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/scientists-on-how-trees-talk-through-an-ancient-otherworld-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">invaluable insights<\/a>, and we are only just beginning to fully understand and reconcile with our past.
