It would no doubt create quite the international media sensation, right? Well, that\u2019s exactly what happened in the case of Japanese First Lady Miyuki Hatoyama. However, did you hear about it at all?<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, then 62-year-old Miyuki Hatoyama, wife of Japan\u2019s Prime Minister-elect, Yukio Hatoyama, came under scrutiny for what she wrote in a book entitled, entitled <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/asia\/i-have-been-abducted-by-aliens-says-japans-first-lady-1780888.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cVery Strange Things I\u2019ve Encountered.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hatoyama wrote about an experience that happened to her two decades before.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhile my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus,\u201d she explains in the tome she published last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a very beautiful place, and it was very green,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44193\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44193\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-44193\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/moss-983908_1280.jpg\" alt=\"moss 983908 1280\" width=\"1024\" height=\"678\" title=\"A First Lady who described traveling to Venus to witness an alien world 2\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44193\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Green landscape <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/photos\/moss-vegetation-bokeh-background-983908\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via <\/a>pixabay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The retired actress and author of cookbooks also claimed to recognize the actor Tom Cruise from another life.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI believe he\u2019d get it if I said to him, \u2018Long time no see,\u2019 when we meet,\u201d she said in an interview.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When she told her now ex-husband at the time, he told her it was probably just a dream. However, she said that her new husband, Yukio Hatoyama, would no doubt have reacted differently. The divorced singer and dancer met the multi-millionaire while working in a Japanese restaurant in San Francisco. They married in 1975.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMy current husband has a different way of thinking,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHe would surely say \u2018Oh, that\u2019s great.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stanford University-educated Yukio Hatoyama, also 62 at the time, is the grandson of a former prime minister. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-japan-election-alien\/japans-new-first-lady-says-rode-ufo-to-venus-idUSTRE5812DV20090902\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to <em>Reuters,<\/em><\/a> he earned the nickname \u201cthe alien\u201d for his prominent eyes.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/asia\/i-have-been-abducted-by-aliens-says-japans-first-lady-1780888.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>the Independent,<\/em><\/a> the nickname comes from the couple\u2019s unconventional approach:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThough Mr Hatoyama is a multi-millionaire and the fourth generation of his family to rise to the top of the Japanese political world, his appearance is unconventional by rigid Japanese standards: his hair is unruly and he rejects the navy uniform of the political world in favour of suits of brown and moss green.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is this refusal to bow to convention, as well as his tendency to drop conversation-stopping remarks \u2013 like his call, during the election campaign, for a \u2018politics full of love\u2019 \u2013 that long ago led other Japanese politicians to dismiss him as an uchujin, an alien. Though not, presumably, the one who took Miyuki to Venus.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52176\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Flickr-Abhisit_Vejjajiva_69.jpeg\" alt=\"Flickr Abhisit Vejjajiva 69\" width=\"1599\" height=\"1066\" title=\"A First Lady who described traveling to Venus to witness an alien world 3\">One would think that this story about travels to Venus might have been more prominent in world news, but it seems to have barely made a blip on the radar. One reason may be that Japan\u2019s approach to the idea of extraterrestrials is so different from western countries.<\/p>\n<p>From the beginning, ancient stories tell of alien-like beings, including the ancient Dogu, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/are-the-mysterious-dogu-figurines-depictions-of-ancient-astronauts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">alien-like figurines<\/a> representing gods from the sky.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ancient Aliens<\/em> Season 12, Episode 14 explored this, and the primary religion of Japan called Shintoism. The beliefs connect Japan to a mystical past involving celestial beings called Kami. (see below)<\/p>\n<h3>UFOs and the Japanese government<\/h3>\n<p>In 2007, the<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/worldviews\/wp\/2015\/04\/02\/japanese-defense-minister-denies-aliens-have-invaded-japan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Japanese government stated<\/a> it \u201chas not confirmed the existence of unidentified flying objects believed to have come from anywhere other than Earth.\u201d Then Japan\u2019s defense minister said there were \u201cno grounds\u201d to deny outright the existence of alien-manned UFOs.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/asia-pacific\/7150156.stm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><em>BBC News<\/em> reported <\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that despite a lack of evidence \u201cChief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura later told reporters he believed they [UFOs] were definitely real.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, despite that admission that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/2007\/12\/japan-lacks-ufo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article noted:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cJapan has not yet planned what to do should aliens arrive here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201c*A member of the opposition asked the government what its policy was to deal with UFOs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">*He said work should begin urgently to try to confirm whether or not they exist because of what he called \u201cincessant\u201d reports of sightings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">*The Japanese civil service swung into action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a statement it said that should a flying saucer be spotted in the country\u2019s airspace, a fighter would be scrambled to attempt visual confirmation.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Related: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ancient-code.com\/an-800-ton-monolith-from-japan-and-its-similarity-to-tales-of-strange-otherworldly-visitors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">An 800-ton monolith from Japan and its similarity to tales of strange otherworldly visitors<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By 2015, Defense Minister Gen Nakatani answered a question about UFOs during a budget session.
